ATM: Banyan Tree to double properties by 2013
The group currently has close to 30 hotels across China, Thailand, the Indian Ocean, Mexico, Indonesia and the Middle East.
Openings due this year include Banyan Tree Macau in China on May 15, Banyan Tree Riverside in Shanghai, Angsana Hangzhou and Angsana Balaclava in Mauritius.
Vice president marketing Luca Deplano said: “We are looking at expanding in Oman, Egypt and Jordan over the next five years.”
The group has recently added beach villas at the Banyan Tree Al Wadi hotel which opened last year.
Other recent developments include the acquisition of?the Sheraton Grande Laguna, which Banyan?Tree is to transform?into the Angsana Laguna Phuket at a cost of 30 million US dollars.?It is expected to open on December 1.
