Eight agents attended ‘truly unforgettable’ fam trip to state
Australia and New Zealand specialist tour operator Anzcro UK has recorded 76% year-on-year growth in sales for Western Australia, crediting a recent campaign run in partnership with Tourism Western Australia and Qantas.
The sales boost means Perth has overtaken Melbourne to become the operator’s second-biggest Australia arrival point.
The ‘Win Your Way to WA’ campaign, which ran from July to September, reached more than 13,000 agents, with a total of 130 taking part through bookings, listening to webinars and participating in in-person training, while a Western Australia fam trip was also organised.
Anzcro UK sales director Shubhra Halliday said: “This campaign has been a milestone in inspiring both agents and holidaymakers to choose Western Australia as their next destination.”
A key feature of the project was highlighting Qantas’ direct Heathrow to Perth daily service, with a journey time of 16.5 hours.
Halliday said the campaign had driven “significant engagement and bookings”, adding: “Western Australia offers a world of adventure, and Qantas’ direct service makes it even more accessible for UK travellers.”
A total of eight agents took part in the recent fam trip, with half of the participants heading north to Monkey Mia in the Unesco-listed Shark Bay, while the other half visited Margaret River in the south.
The Sussex Travel Company agent Jeannie Palmer described the trip as “truly unforgettable”.
She added: “Experiencing the destination first-hand has given me the confidence and enthusiasm to inspire my clients to discover the unique beauty and experiences of Western Australia.”
Western Australia’s arrival figures show 116,000 UK travellers visited the state in the year ending June 2024, which represents a rise of 5.5% compared with the previous year.
