AmaWaterways has introduced a new itinerary in France aimed at wine enthusiasts.
Flavours of Burgundy, starting in 2024, will take guests on a cruise along the Saône River between Dijon and Lyon, with visits to vineyards and châteaux among the features.
AmaWaterways managing director Jamie Loizou said: “It’s the perfect option for wine lovers or existing cruise clients who are looking for something a little different.”
Regional cuisine and treats will be on offer both onboard and in ports. Among the included excursions are tours of Dijon, Beaujolais wine tasting and exploring Lyon.
For those who wish to extend their trip, a land package is available offering three nights pre-cruise in Paris and three nights post-cruise in Geneva.
Loizou said: “Agents continue to see strong demand for our cruises through Europe’s wine regions, so we are pleased to be able to expand the range of itineraries on offer.
“This new addition will provide guests with an unforgettable journey through the beautiful vineyards of this renowned wine producing region and make it easy for them to visit multiple chateaux and wineries in the space of a week.”
Prices for the seven-night Flavours of Burgundy cruise – sailing from Saint-Jean-de-Losne to Lyon – start from £2,951 per person for the June 27, 2024, departure on AmaCello. The price includes an early booking saving of £600 per person plus free flights and transfers from Heathrow or Gatwick.
The cost is based on two people sharing, subject to availability.
The company offers regular cruises through wine regions, as well as more than 60 Celebration of Wine departures each year with the same itineraries and excursions but hosted by experts.
The hosts – including vineyard owners, winemakers and sommeliers – bring hand-selected wines on board to serve during a special meal, tastings, or seminars.
