Agents offered chance to see both sides of holiday in Classic Collection initiative

Agents are being offered the opportunity to become holiday reps as part of a Classic Collection initiative.

Nine agents will be selected to experience both sides of a holiday, volunteering as an overseas rep for three days and then staying as a holidaymaker for another there nights.

The operator’s Be Our Rep, Be Our Guest initiative opens for online applications on March 6 until April 14.

The company’s overseas regional managers will oversee the ‘recruitment process’ before making a final selection to volunteer as a rep before holidaying in a destinations which could be in the Canary Islands, the Balearics or Italy.

The operator will be filming the experiences to share the content, on social media channels and the operator’s new Classic Collection TV over the summer.

Agency sales and marketing director Si Morris-Green said: “During the last 12 months we’ve shared an open-doors policy with our travel agent partners.

“We’ve held numerous ‘Come along to Classic’ open-days at our refurbished offices on the south coast, hosted two Classic awards events, one in the UK and one in Cyprus, and have just announced details of 16 Classic Live Lounge roadshows throughout the UK for 2023.

“Be Our Rep, Be Our Guest will give nine lucky agents yet another view of Classic Collection, this time from an overseas perspective.

“The first three days will cover all aspects of repping from airport meet and greet, via welcome meetings and hotel visits, to a reps’ night out. During this time the agents will get to meet our overseas regional managers, and shadow and work alongside our resort staff.  The last three days will be pure holiday and a well-earned rest from repping duties.’

“Those agents who’ve repped before might like to step back into the role to see how things have changed.

“For those agents who’ve never worked abroad it’ll be an invaluable insight into both sides of customer service in an overseas environment. And there’s always the chance that one or more of our trade partners might end up being both travel agent and overseas holiday rep to their own customers.”
