Tour operator launches despite coronavirus challenges

A new tour operator has launched despite the “unprecedented” challenges the industry currently faces.

Untold Story Travel has been set up Mark Allvey and Chris Brunning, who both worked at luxury tour operator Niquesa Travel previously.

Both carry the role of co-founders, with Allvey stepping up as chief executive and Brunning as managing director.

Allvey has worked in the luxury hotel sector for more than 30 years including senior roles at One&Only Resorts, Oberoi and Rocco Forte Hotels. Brunning worked in planning for overseas expedition brand World Challenge, part of the Tui Group, and was also head of product creation and key client relationships at luxury agency Brown + Hudson.

In a statement, the pair said they thought the “magic of travel” would bounce back when restrictions end.

The new brand has confirmed intentions to work with agents.

The statement said: “While this is an unprecedented time for the travel industry, the team at Untold Story is positive that the magic of travel will prove more momentous to their clients as the world bounces back.

“The creative teams at Untold Story are developing itineraries from late summer and autumn 2020 and anticipate that travel, when it returns, will be a time for introspection, connectivity and re-evaluation of life. A selection of journeys that focus on slow travel and journeys with integrity will answer this demand.”
