Uniworld to restart European cruises from June 20

Uniworld Boutique River Cruises is to resume operations on June 20.

The first Uniworld cruises will operate on La Venezia (pictured) in Italy, with cruises in France resuming from a week later onboard Bon Voyage on June 27, Joie de Vivre on July 4 and Catherine from July 11.

Ellen Bettridge, the line’s president and chief executive, said: ““We’ve been waiting for this moment and are beyond thrilled to be back on the rivers, welcoming back our loyal guests on four of our most beautiful Super Ships this summer.

“Our guests are like family to us, and their safety is our main priority, which is why we’re taking all of the necessary precautions to ensure they’re comfortable when they’re ready to explore the rivers with us again.”

Chris Townson, UK & Ireland managing director, added: “It’s obviously hugely exciting that we’ll be returning to the water on June 20, which also represents the inaugural sailing of our new Super Ship La Venezia in Italy.

“We’re very hopeful that Italy and France will be on the government’s green list at some point in June, so that we can finally welcome UK travellers back to our ships.”

Bettridge said: “Restarting these itineraries is just the first step in getting all of our ships back on the rivers this year.

“Demand for river cruising is at an all-time high and the support and excitement we are receiving from both new and old guests is outstanding.”
