It’s not often we write a news story is about a shower.

But Celebrity Cruises has created such an unusual?washing opportunity?we felt it worthy of an article.

The new shower, designed by New York-based BG Studio International, is on board the line’s newest ship Celebrity Reflection in the 1,636 Reflection Suite.

To look at it’s a peeping toms dream but thanks to some cunning placement the peeping tom would have to be ridiculously determined to get a peek of a showering guest.

The suite’s all-glass shower extends out over the edge of the ship.

Senior vice president of hotel operations Lisa Lutoff-Perlo said: “We made a big investment in ensuring that our guests can enjoy the shower entirely free of any concerns of being seen.

“They can enjoy breathtaking sea views while discreetly showering, courtesy of the shower’s special reflective glass.?

“But, if they seek even further privacy, the shower also features ‘smart glass.’

“At the flick of a switch, guests can activate an electrochromatic technology which instantly transforms the glass from transparent to translucent.

“We even went so far as to install a special sensor, so if guests prefer, the glass can be automatically transformed for them.”

The suite is in the corner of 14th deck has a 194-square-foot veranda and is Celebrity’s first two-bedroom suite.

?It is next doot to five new Signature Suites which accommodates up to four guests and offers a 441-square-foot stateroom area and 118-square foot veranda, with floor-to-ceiling windows and veranda doors.

The six suites are in a private area accessible by cardkey and can be booked exclusively so that a group of up to 26 guests can enjoy a completely private area.

Celebrity Reflection will enter service on October 12 on a nine-night European cruise from Amsterdam to Barcelona.???????
