New hotel The Londoner welcomes first guests

Highly-anticipated city hotel The Londoner has opened in Leicester Square.

The so-called ‘super boutique’ hotel is owned by one of the UK’s largest family-run hotel groups, Edwardian Hotels London, and was designed in collaboration with architectural designers Yabu Pushelberg.

The 16-storey property features 350 guest rooms, suites and penthouses, two private screening rooms, an exclusive 24-hour residents’ space, an entire floor dedicated to wellness, a ballroom, a private art gallery and several meeting spaces.

Food and beverage options include a signature Mediterranean restaurant, Whitcomb’s; a Japanese lounge bar with a rooftop terrace and firepit named 8; and neighbourhood bar, Joshua’s Tavern.

The Londoner says it offers a “boutique approach and commitment to hospitality” despite its size.

The property had also reportedly employed pioneering methods of sustainable luxury, which exceed the BREEAM Excellent category in building environmental and sustainable performance.
