Star Clippers appoints head of trade sales

Star Clippers has promoted Danielle Bates (nee Dudley) to head of trade sales.

She moves up from her position as sales manager and comes ahead of the niche cruise specialist’s launch of its new ship Flying Clipper – its first full rigged clipper since Royal Clipper was built in 2000.

Bates, who  has spent ten years at Star Clippers, will lead a five-strong team of regional and office based sales support staff.

She will report into Fay McCormack, general manager for Star Clippers’ UK and Ireland operation, which is represented by Fred. Olsen Travel.

McCormack said: “Dani is much loved within the industry and has played a key part in developing our relationship with UK and Irish travel agents during the past ten years. As we prepare to welcome our long-awaited new ship, Flying Clipper, our relationship with agents is crucial to delivering more opportunities to sail on board these majestic ships than ever before.”

In January 2019, Nicola Pearce was appointed to the UK Star Clippers sales team in a new role of regional sales manager for the south west.

Emma Moore has taken on regional sales for the Midlands and South East (maternity cover for Rosanna Ivkovic) before she takes up a full-time role of sales support in the Ipswich head office.
