Silversea’s Silver Moon completes sea trials

The newest ship from Silversea Cruises, Silver Moon, has successfully completed its sea trials ahead of its launch later this year.

The vessel travelled between Fincantieri’s shipyards in Ancona and Trieste in Italy between August 8 and August 20 carrying a reduced crew of 320 due to Covid-19.

Silver Moon’s delivery date is set for October 30.

The ship will become the second vessel to join Silversea’s fleet in 2020, following the delivery of Silver Origin on June 3.

“As my third [sea trials] with Silversea, I must say that Silver Moon’s sea trials felt a little surreal after everything that has happened in the months prior,” said Silver Moon’s master, captain Alessandro Zanello.

“The ship is coming on nicely and she really is looking spectacular. This is a momentous occasion for all of us; we have worked very hard to reach this point.”
