Shangri-La opens first property in Saudi Arabia

Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts' first property in Saudi Arabia has opened.

Shangri-La Jeddah features 220 guest rooms, suites and apartments, as well as three restaurants, extensive wellness facilities and a dedicated kids’ club.

The hotel is situated in the 64-storey Burj Assila tower - Jeddah’s tallest building at 260 metres - and forms part of the two-billion Saudi Riyal mixed-use development project which is also home to 116 state-of-the-art Burj Assila Residences.

The property is located close to the city’s premier shopping areas and the Jeddah Corniche Circuit, home to the Saudi Arabia Grand Prix.

The hotel's 148 deluxe guest rooms, 55 suites and 17 serviced apartments all feature views over the Red Sea and the Jeddah skyline.

Restaurants include a new outpost of award-winning restaurant Shang Palace, featuring modern Chinese cuisine; an interactive culinary experience at The Waterfront Kitchen, a yacht-inspired all-day restaurant with live cooking stations; and boutique patisserie COPA.

The Wellness Club is spread across two floors and features a full range of Technogym cardio machines an weights. The facility is also home to The Spa at Shangri-La which features a bespoke menu by Natura Bissé, a sauna and Jacuzzi, as well as a hammam with a range of treatment rooms.

A 25-metre outdoor swimming with sea views is located on the seventh floor alongside extensive recreational facilities and a kids’ club.
