Seabourn expedition ship to make Norwegian winter debut

A revised debut season will see new purpose-built expedition ship Seabourn Venture sail in Norwegian waters in winter 2021.

The vessel is due to be launched in December 2021 followed by a second yet-to-be-named sister ship in 2022.

Seabourn Venture will sail on a series of 10 to 14-day Norwegian winter voyages along the coastline of the country between December 2021 and April 2022, including Northern Lights itineraries.

The 132-suite ship will feature two custom-built six-seat submarines, expedition kayaks and 24 Zodiacs that can accommodate all passengers at once.

Seabourn Venture was originally due to be christened in Greenwich in June 2021 before the Covid-19 pandemic disrupted plans.

Seabourn president Josh Leibowitz said: “Our Norwegian winter itineraries were carefully designed to offer guests the potential to view one of earth’s true wonders, the Northern Lights.

“There’s no better way to explore Norway’s winter beauty than on our new ultra-luxury expedition ship and all the activities it offers.”
