Scenic Group confirms European restart plans

Scenic Group, which includes Scenic Luxury Cruises & Tours and Emerald Cruises, plans to bring more ships back on European rivers from late July.

Both brands will return to the Danube and the Rhine this summer, and Scenic will also resume operations on the Garonne, Gironde and Dordogne in Bordeaux, France.

Emerald will return on the Rhine on August 19 followed by the Danube on August 30.

The line will operate 38 river cruises in Europe between July and December, when Emerald resumes Christmas market sailings.

Scenic returns to Bordeaux’s rivers on August 29, the Rhine on August 30 and the Danube on September 27.

The line will offer six Bordeaux cruises, eight Rhine sailings and four Danube departures this year, plus three Christmas market sailings.

Two 15-day Jewels of Europe river cruises are included this year’s programme. The itinerary between Amsterdam and Budapest covers both the Rhine and the Danube.

In May, the group announced that Scenic and Emerald would resume their original Douro schedules from July 30.

All cruises are available to book. The group’s booking policy allows passengers to rebook, receive a full refund or a future travel voucher if a cruise destination is put on to the UK government’s amber or red list 30 days before departure.

Passengers must be fully vaccinated two weeks before departure.
