Rosewood Residences forecasts ‘strong’ summer ahead

The residence arm of Rosewood Hotels and Resorts has reported “very strong” figures for summer 2021, with average booking rates up 8% compared to 2019.

The brand said it anticipated a 35% increase in residence bookings compared with 2019.

Rosewood’s two- and three-bedroom residences are the most booked, according to the brand, but larger properties with four to five bedrooms have a longer length of stay.

The brand said its average length of stay for summer 2021 was six nights, up 30% from 2019.

Destinations such as Mexico and the Caribbean, which typically consider the summer to be low season, are performing similarly to their traditional winter high seasons and commanding equal rates, according to Caroline MacDonald, group vice president of sales, marketing, distribution and business performance at Rosewood Hotel Group.

“People are eager to travel and seek out our resorts in these destinations, especially as more of the Caribbean islands begin to reopen with specific Covid-19 protocols in place,” she said.

“All Mexico destinations are a standout for residential bookings. Rosewood San Miguel De Allende has seen an increase in residences bookings as well as an increase in average length of stay, with more guests choosing to work remotely from this destination for the summer months.

“These residences are a great option as they offer their own private entrance, rooftop terraces, jacuzzi, and spacious accommodation for long-term stays so guests can truly integrate into the local culture.”
