Rosewood launches ambassador programme

Rosewood Hotels & Resorts has launched an ambassador programme designed to connect guests to local experts in art, sustainability, culture and wellness.

The brand has hired a selection of local specialists, or PlaceMakers, to create bespoke programmes, experiences and destination guides at its hotels.

PlaceMakers fall into six categories, including Art & Entertainment, Style & Design, Food & Beverage, Health & Wellbeing, Family & Lifestyle and Sustainability.

The programme launches with the first set of PlaceMakers, Catie Miller and Boniface Verney-Carron (pictured), co-founders of wellness platform Oona Series, at Rosewood London.

The pair’s programme will include an in-room wellness portal, offering meditation, workouts and bedtime stories, and a ‘reset retreat’ featuring a digital detox, fitness sessions and a natural wakeup call by a personal butler.

At Rosewood Phuket in Thailand, sustainable clothing designer Philip Huang will host The Future of Tradition, a weekend-long series of experiences including an indigo dying workshop and a lesson on repurposing plants, food and foliage into art.

At Rosewood Beijing, fashion designers Liu Min and Ian Hylton will redesign the property’s largest suite, Beijing House, in line with the brand’s A Sense of Place philosophy.

The pair will also coordinate special fashion shows for the Fall/Winter 2021 collection of their line, Ms Min, as well as crafting and shopping experiences.

Other inaugural PlaceMakers to be introduced in the coming months include Hong Kong fashion designer Johanna Ho at Rosewood Hong Kong and cookbook author and food photographer Emiko Davies at Rosewood Castiglion del Bosco in Italy.

Rosewood said new PlaceMakers would be inducted into the programme throughout 2021 and beyond.

“We’re delighted to be launching this unique campaign at Rosewood London in collaboration with our very first PlaceMakers Boniface and Catie,” said managing director Michael Bonsor.

“In today’s world, our guest prioritises wellness and experiential stays more than ever. The innovation and philosophy behind Boniface’s and Catie’s practices make them the perfect candidates to open this programme with”.
