Paul Gauguin Cruises launches 2022 French Polynesia itineraries
Paul Gauguin Cruises’ newly renovated ship will offer five itineraries in French Polynesia in 2022.
The 332-passenger Paul Gauguin will visit the Society Islands, Tahiti, the Cook Islands, the Tuamotus and the Marquesas and offer a varied programme of diving, snorkelling, paddle boarding and kayaking.
The line’s eight-day Tahiti & Society Islands cruise takes in the “must-sees” of French Polynesia, including Huahine, Motu Mahana and Bora Bora, while a 12-day Cook Islands & Society Islands itinerary includes Moorea and the Cook Islands, with stopovers in Aitutaki and Rarotonga. Cruises start from €2,120 and €3,790 respectively.
An 11-day Society Islands & The Tuamotus cruise features visits to Rangiroa, the Unesco biosphere reserve of Fakarava and Tuamotus, the largest atoll in French Polynesia. Prices start from €3,040.
Two 15-day cruises will also be on offer, including the Marquesas, The Tuamotus & Society Islands cruise, which starts from €5,440, and the Fiji, Tonga, Cook & Society Islands itinerary, which starts from €6,660.
Paul Gauguin, which was acquired by parent company Ponant in 2019, recently completed a two-month refurbishment at the line’s drydock in Singapore.
All staterooms, suites and public spaces have been redesigned, while the ship has received a number of technological upgrades to reduce its impact on the environment, including a switch to a more environmentally friendly fuel, LS-MGO (Low-Sulphur Marine Gas Oil).
Carbon emissions have also been offset by up to 150%, according to the line, thanks to a number of optimisations made to water and energy treatments.
