Nobu to open property in Egypt

Nobu Hospitality is set to open its first property in Egypt.

Nobu Hotel New Cairo is slated to launch in early 2027, following the opening of a Nobu restaurant in Eastown District New Cairo (EDNC) in autumn this year.

The hotel will feature 50 rooms and suites, a pool, gym and spa.

In the two-storey restaurant, guests can expect a sushi bar, cigar lounge, private dining room and event space.

The development will take place in partnership with Egyptian real estate developer Sodic alongside architecture and design firm Rockwell Group.

Founder and president of Rockwell Group, David Rockwell, said: “Designing Nobu New Cairo has been an extraordinary opportunity to merge the quiet strength of Japanese design with Egypt’s varying scales – its vast desert, monumental pyramids and intricate crafts – and the play of shadows and light across the land.

“This project is a blend of cultural influences and contemporary design, creating a truly immersive and luxurious experience. We’re excited to bring this vision to life and contribute to New Cairo’s vibrant hospitality scene.”
