Nobu Hotels plans Germany expansion

Nobu Hotels is to expand into Germany with the launch of Nobu Hotel Elbtower Hamburg.

The new property will be located in the Elbtower, a mixed-use development from property company Signa Real Estate located along the River Elbe. At 245m and 64 stories, it will be the tallest high-rise in the city.

Nobu Hotel Elbtower Hamburg is set to feature 191 guest rooms and suites, a 200-seat Nobu restaurant, a terrace bar and lounge with views of the river and a fitness and wellness facility.

The hotel will also offer private dining rooms, event space for corporate and social gatherings and a private members club for the local community.

Alongside a Nobu hotel, the Elbtower will house office space, retail shops, restaurants and co-working spaces. It is expected to open in 2025.

“We are very happy to be working with Signa in developing the Nobu Hotel in the great city of Hamburg,” said Nobu Hospitality founders Robert De Niro and chef Nobu Matsuhisa.

Timo Herzberg, chief executive of Signa Real Estate Germany, added: “The partnership with Nobu Hospitality in the launch of the Nobu Hotel and Restaurant Hamburg underscores the compelling Elbtower development as northern Germany's tallest skyscraper.

“Hamburg as a destination fits seamlessly within the Nobu Hotel and Restaurant collection and will be embraced by our prestigious office tenants in the Elbtower as the most exclusive destination in Hamburg.”

Nobu Hotel Elbtower Hamburg is the latest development in the strategic expansion of Nobu’s global portfolio. Properties in Marrakech, Riyadh, Toronto, São Paulo, Atlanta and Tel Aviv are also in development.
