Mauritius tourism authority launches 'unwavering' campaign

The Mauritian tourist board has created a new campaign to highlight that the island nation is ready to welcome back tourists when travel resumes.

The #MauritiusUnwavering campaign aims to showcase the country’s natural beauty, according to Arvind Bundhun, director of the Mauritius Tourism Promotion Authority.

He said: “We are dedicated to accentuating the visibility of the destination during this period to provide inspiration and remind consumers that we remain the dream holiday destination.

“We have therefore released our latest tourism campaign, #MauritiusUnwavering, to showcase the natural beauty and diversity of our destination and affirm that Mauritius will be ready to welcome visitors back as soon as they are able to return.”

Mauritius has been praised for its efficient response to the pandemic, with the destination quickly implementing procedures and measures.

On January 22, the government started screening passengers on arrival at its airport, taking temperatures and ensuring those suspected of having the virus had minimum impact with others.

The destination is currently working with stakeholder partners to prepare the country for the return of tourists once restrictions are lifted.
