Mauritius launches extended visa and new marketing campaign

Mauritius has introduced a new Premium Visa as it looks to attract more long stay visitors.

The visa is valid for one year and is renewable.

It comes as the tourist board announced a new campaign to attract visitors as the phased reopening of the island’s boarders start.

The #MauritiusNow campaign aims to “restore the image of Mauritius as a prime destination”, according to the tourism authority.

“In addition to safeguarding Mauritius’s brand positioning in global markets, the campaign has been designed to boost the image of Mauritius and restore confidence in the aftermath of the recent oil spill incident which affected 4% of the island.”

A dedicated microsite has been set up for the campaign, with planned social media content, newsletters and blogs.

The website includes live video feeds captured by webcams installed at key locations across the island.
