Luxury yacht sold by Crystal Cruises

Crystal Cruises has sold small ship Crystal Esprit for an undisclosed sum after six years in the fleet.

The 62-passenger vessel no longer suites the luxury line’s post-pandemic plans.

The purchaser has not been disclosed.

Crystal Esprit was introduced into the fleet after the company was acquired by Asian firm Genting.

The yacht had been operating for Genting’s Star Cruises brand and was refurbished and renamed before joining the Crystal fleet.

Crystal said it is notifying all affected passengers and agents of the disposal and offering future cruise credits equal to 115% of cruise fare paid on fully-paid bookings or a full refund.

The line said: “Crystal Esprit has been a wonderful part of the Crystal fleet offering a boutique yachting experience unmatched in the industry, earning the devotion of discerning travellers and winning awards since her debut in 2015.

“However, as we have been evaluating our focus post pandemic, the single, small yacht concept does not fit into future plans for the company as we continue to concentrate on the successful deployment of our Crystal ocean, river and expedition fleets, as well as exploring new builds for expansion.

“We extend our heartfelt gratitude to the officers and crew who worked passionately to make Crystal Esprit a unique vacation and look forward to welcoming them aboard the other vessels in our award-winning fleet.”
