Lux Resorts & Hotels to open flagship property in Mauritius

Lux Resorts & Hotels is set to open a new flagship property in Mauritius in November.

Lux Grand Baie Resort & Residences is located in the Grand Baie lagoon in north Mauritius.

The property features 86 junior suites, 20 two-bedroom pool residences, seven two-bedroom pool villas and a three-bedroom Grand Beach Pool Villa featuring direct access to the beach and its own chef.

Five food and beverage options are available on site, including beach club concept Beach Rouge, Japanese restaurant Ai Kisu, European-inspired cafe Maison Lux and an adults-only rooftop bar and restaurant called Bisou.

The property will also feature a four-floor spa and fitness area, home to thermal experiences, personal training, a wellness bar and a rooftop featuring two 30-metre running tracks and 12 workout stations.

The property’s kids' club, Play, caters to children between three and 12 years old and offers experiences such as gardening, ice cream making and yoga. An entertinament area for teenagers, Studio 17, will also be available.

“The vision for Lux Grand Baie has been in my mind for some time, and I have been determined to bring all my years of experience in resorts around the world to a crescendo in this magnificent property,” said Paul Jones, chief executive officer of The Lux Collective.

“Grand Baie is the crown jewel of Mauritius and the mandate from the outset was simple: create the finest luxury resort in the Indian Ocean. In the process, it has become the flagship for Lux Resorts & Hotels and our first greenfield project in Mauritius.

“The essentials had to be perfect – comfort, warm, welcoming and inviting. Exciting, creative and full of Lux soul. That ‘soul’ comes from our people, who in Mauritius are magical.”
