La Résidence de la Pinède to join Cheval Blanc Maison collection

La Résidence de la Pinède will become Cheval Blanc St-Tropez for its reopening in May 2019.

The renowned luxury hotel was acquired by LVMH Hotel Management in 2016 and has since undergone a major re-design spanning its architecture, design and bespoke services.

The fourth Cheval Blanc Maison, it will join Cheval Blanc Courchevel, which opened in 2006; Cheval Blanc Randheli in the Maldives in 2013; and Cheval Blanc St-Barth Isle de France in the Caribbean in 2014.

French architect and St-Tropez native Francois Vieillecroze was tasked with downsizing the hotel to just 30 rooms and suites to allow for a higher level of exclusivity and personalised services, while still preserving the property’s traditional structure.

Interior architecture was overseen by Jean-Michel Wilmotte, who reportedly prioritised "charm and comfort" as he balanced retaining the hotel's 80-year history with Cheval Blanc's signature contemporary design.

The hotel is home to one bar and two restaurants, including three-Michelin starred La Vague d’Or, which will serve guests locally-sourced meats and vegetables, fresh seafood, and wild, seasonal herbs under famed chef Arnaud Donckele.

Additionally, the Spa Cheval Blanc will offer a range of beauty treatments by Guerlain, complete with four treatment rooms and an ‘Orchid’ room for couples.

Cheval Blanc St-Tropez is set to open on May 16, 2019.
