A fifth of members at travel agency Knightsbridge Circle have enquired about or confirmed European travel for this summer.  

Bookings for UK staycations were expected to boom following yesterday’s announcement from Prime Minister Boris Johnson confirming a roadmap for easing lockdown restrictions in England.

But Knightsbridge Circle founder Stuart McNeill said he felt "optimistic" European travel would return thanks to the flexible booking terms offered by many of his hospitality partners.

The agency predicted Bodrum, the Athens Riviera, Sardinia, Ibiza and Saint Tropez to be the most popular European spots this summer. 

“The travel and hospitality industries have been among the hardest hit by the pandemic, they are in urgent need of support,” McNeill said.

Knightsbridge Circle claims to have retained 100% of its client base since the pandemic began, with a 15% growth in new members. 

The agency puts its success down to a personal approach, which includes at-home rapid results testing, enabling members to reduce quarantine time to only five days, and using the latest Test to Release scheme when returning from countries on the quarantine list.
