Kerzner International to open One&Only resort in Athens

Kerzner International has announced plans to open a One&Only resort on the Athenian Riviera in Greece.

The group said it had entered into a resort management agreement with Grivalia Hospitality to develop a new hotel on a 21-hectare beachfront estate on the Glyfada seafront.

One&Only Aesthesis will feature a selection of villas with private pools, including the brand’s exclusive Villa One concept; multiple food and beverage options inspired by the flavours of Greece; a beach club; a Chenot Spa; and a six-hectare forest reserve.

The property will offer programming for families with children as well as adult-only spaces.

The brand said One&Only Aesthesis would “celebrate the legendary Athenian Riviera” with a design inspired by the region’s Grecian heritage and natural surroundings, and a palette of natural stone and timber.

One&Only Aesthesis will be the brand’s third property in Europe, following the opening of One&Only Portonovi in Montenegro in May and the announced development of One&Only Kea Island in Greece.

Kerzner International’s chief executive Philippe Zuber said: “Kerzner International is very excited to be adding Athens to our European footprint.  This exclusive beachfront location, just outside of the city centre of Athens, is incredible; the perfect destination to begin, or end, any Greek adventure, through the ultra-luxury experience of One&Only.

“We will re-imagine the golden era of Athens, a celebration through a life and energy that is true to our brand promise.  We are executing our strategic growth and development of the One&Only brand globally and excited to add another One&Only experience in Greece.”

He added: “Our partners, Grivalia, are leaders in Greek real estate investment and are committed to honouring the location and providing a legacy for the future.”
