If Only raises £7,300 to support Ukraine appeal

Staff at the luxury trade tour operator If Only raised £7,300 with charity event in their Glasgow head office, to support a Ukraine appeal.

The event generated £3,650 which has been matched by the company to bring the total to £7,300.

The funds will support Dr Raj Joshi from The Adventure Boutique, a luxury expedition partner.

His team is setting up humanitarian operations in the western Ukrainian city of Lviv, helping refugees with food, clothing, shelter and support with transport to other countries.

During the fundraiser, staff were encouraged to wear blue and yellow – the colours of the  Ukraine flag – and they took part in a raffle and a silent auction, with prizes donated by trade partners.

Prizes included hotel stays across the globe, sporting event tickets, extra annual leave days and luxury hampers

There were also a bake stall, food and drinks, table-top games and homemade lunches to buy.

Gordon McCreadie, If Only general manager, said: “The invasion of Ukraine has left us all deeply shocked and touched.

“At If Only, however small, we felt we had to do something to help raise money and provide support for those impacted by the humanitarian crisis.

“I want to express my thanks for the team who have pulled together and we have raised a total of £3,650 we are so grateful for everybody’s contribution and as a thank you, as a business we will match the money raised so in total we have raised £7,300.”
