Ickenham Travel chief creates luxury specalist operator

Ickenham Travel Group boss Peter Reglar has entered the UK domestic travel sector with a new specialist operator in the wake of the coronavirus crisis.

Reglar Collection offers UK rental and hotel accommodation as well as individually managed experiences and activities.

The new holiday concept from an established brand is focusing on “luxury and unique” UK locations.

The company is offering an online and telephone-based service with dedicated travel advisors create personal itineraries.

“The welcoming of staycations for British holidaymakers and the risk of last-minute quarantine restrictions” led to the creation of the new business.

“Reglar Collection is looking to address the relatively unserved market of discerning clients looking for bespoke holidays in the UK beyond simple weekend breaks,” the company said.

Reglar, with 50 years’ experience in the travel industry, said: ”At the quality end of the market the UK has tended to offer only short break experiences, with longer term holidays traditionally being taken in exclusive overseas locations.

“The coronavirus pandemic has created a new demand now for those longer-term holidays to be UK based and it is this market that we will be serving.”

Company partner Jennie Reglar added: “We are introducing a personal concierge approach to UK holidays taking the brief from the client on what is important to them and delivering precisely that.

“This may include staying in different locations and types of accommodation, experiencing specific activities and events, and enjoying a truly bespoke holiday” added

“With 2019 having been the second warmest year on record we are now seeing the UK as equally attractive as overseas locations and remaining in the UK whilst the Covid-19 outbreak remains a global threat is proving to be the preferred choice for many. For those who still want their dream holiday, but UK based, Reglar Collection is positioned to provide it.”
