The Hoxton is to add five more European properties to its portfolio over the course of 2022 and 2023.

The brand, which opened an outpost in Rome (pictured) this month, will open properties in Barcelona, Berlin, Brussels, London’s Shepherd’s Bush and Vienna.

The Hoxton, Barcelona will be the first of the five to open in spring 2022 in the city's Poblenou neighbourhood, a 20 minute walk from the Sagrada Familia.

The property will feature 240 rooms, a ground floor restaurant, bar and terrace, a rooftop pool and multi-functional meeting and events space. 

The Hoxton, Berlin and The Hoxton, Brussels will both open in summer 2022. 

The former will be located in Charlottenburg in West Berlin in an existing building currently being refurbished by Ennismore Design Studio. When completed, it will have 239 rooms, an open lobby, bar and restaurant.

The Brussels property will occupy a brutalist-style tower building in the north of the city centre, close to the Botanical Garden and the Northern Business District. The building, formerly the European headquarters of IBM, will have 198 1970s-inspired rooms, a double height lobby, bar and restaurant, a rooftop bar and terrace and events space. 

In winter 2022, the brand will open its fourth property in its hometown of London; The Hoxton, Shepherd’s Bush. 

The 237-room hotel will include a central bar and open lobby with vintage seating, a retro-themed restaurant, terrace and courtyard and retail space. 

The final property to open will be The Hoxton, Vienna in spring 2023. 

The hotel will be located in Stadtpark in a 1950s modernist building formerly the headquarters of Austria’s Chamber of Commerce.

The brand said the property’s history would be reflected in its design, with Ennismore Design Studio working to restore original features of the building.

When complete, it will have 196 rooms, a lobby and coffee bar, a restaurant and terrace, a rooftop bar and pool, a basement speakeasy and an events auditorium.
