Scotland’s Glenapp Castle adds penthouse apartment

Glenapp Castle in Ayrshire, Scotland will launch a new penthouse apartment when it reopens on May 17.

The 17-bedroom Relais & Chateaux property has converted its top floor to make room for the 4,500 sq ft apartment named The Endeavour.

It features four bedrooms, four bathrooms, a lounge with a dining room for up to 16 guests, a media room with seating for 12, a sauna, library, games room, private lift and a personal treatment room for massages and beauty treatments.

The accommodation has been designed with a nautical theme and features a curated collection of artefacts and art, as well as views of Ailsa Craig, the Isle of Arran and the Mull of Kintyre.

The apartment can be offered on an exclusive basis with a full butler service and private chef, though guests will also have the option to dine in the hotel’s main restaurants.

“We believe The Endeavour penthouse apartment provides a world class destination in both its unique setting and surroundings and in providing a standard of service from a bygone era,” owner Paul Szkiler said.

Glenapp Castle will also launch a new restaurant, the Azelea Glasshouse, when it opens on May 17.

The updates form part of Szkiler’s seven-year refurbishment plan, which will next include the spa.

Guests can book The Endeavour from £2950 in the winter months (November – March) and £3950 in the summer months (April to October) per night on a B&B basis.
