Fairmont to open two properties in UK and Ireland next year

Fairmont is expanding its hotel portfolio within the UK and Ireland with the introduction of two new properties.

The brand, which has more than 80 hotels around the globe, will open the Fairmont Windsor Park and Fairmont Carton House in spring next year.

Both additions will sit alongside the existing UK portfolio which includes The Savoy in London and the Fairmont St Andrews in Scotland.

Fairmont Windsor Park, formerly Savill Court Hotel and Spa, is currently undergoing a “substantial multi-million-pound redevelopment” and will open next year. It is located across from Windsor Great Park and Savill Gardens.

The property will have 200 rooms and suites, as well as a Royal Suite which will boast access to a private section of the spa and wellness area.

The hotel will have a tea lounge, a specialist dining restaurant and a champagne bar. There will also be an all-day dining venue, a gin bar and a private dining space.

The spa will include both an indoor lap pool and outdoor vitality pool, treatment rooms, salt room, Hammam and a Japanese foot spa.

Fairmont Carton House marks the brand’s first foray into Ireland.

The hotel, which is currently undergoing a refurbishment, is located 20 minutes from Dublin in Maynooth, County Kildare. The brand described Carton House as “one of Ireland’s most historic country houses”.

The estate dates back to 1176, when it was part of the Maynooth estate belonging to the FitzGerald family – one of the most influential families in Irish itself. The house itself was built in 1739, making it the oldest property in Fairmont’s collection.

It will have 170 bedrooms and suites and two 18-hole championship golf courses, wellness and events facilities.

It will also have a lobby bar and three restaurants including The Carriage House golf club restaurant and a speciality restaurant located within the Manor House.
