Explora Journeys unveils first look of lead-in suites on Explora I

Explora Journeys has unveiled a first look of the lead-in suite category onboard upcoming ship Explora I.

The all-suite vessel, which is scheduled to launch next May, will be the first of six ships to showcase the line’s Homes at Sea concept.

Suite categories will range from 35-sqm Ocean Terrace Suites up to the 280-sqm Owners Residence.

Explora Journeys said Ocean Terrace Suites and the 39-sqm Ocean Grand Terrace Suites were among “the largest in the industry”.

Explora I will have 461 ocean-front suites, penthouses and residences in total, all of which will feature a private terrace with a day bed and dining area, floor-to-ceiling windows and a neutral colour palette.

All suites will feature a walk-in wardrobe with a seated vanity area and have heated floors in the bathrooms.

A personal mini-bar will be stocked according to the guests’ preferences alongside an espresso machine with bio-degradable pods, a kettle and teapot, and a complimentary personal refillable water bottle for each guest.

Explora Journeys worked with De Joria Luxury & Yachts projects and London-based architectural and interior design studio NenMar to design the suites with “simplicity and comfort” in mind.

The line said suites would have a “contemporary, cosmopolitan, boutique hotel vibe” with furniture from Italian brands such as Molteni&C, intimate lighting and accessories including a Dyson Supersonic hairdryer, personal binoculars and wireless bed-side charging.

Chief executive Michael Ungerer said: “The Homes at Sea have been a long-held vision of the Aponte Vago family. It is a truly exciting and profound moment for us to be able to welcome future guests to the carefully curated suites, penthouses and residences.

“Marrying the family`s impeccable taste and innate understanding of luxury, inspired by their personal travels and style, the interiors of Explora I have been designed with their enduring dedication and incredible eye for detail, along with their vision for the future, weaving a thread of their passion throughout each touchpoint.

“We aspire to elevate the ocean experience and luxury travel to new heights, whilst being respectful to the ocean, environment, and the destinations and cultures we discover, to ensure we leave a positive legacy for generations to come.”

Sales are now open for Inaugural Journeys collection for Explora I. In its first year, the ship will visit 132 ports in 40 countries. Sailings range from six-night sailings to the 44-night Northern Europe Grand Journey.
