Elegant Resorts reports uplift in enquiries and bookings

Luxury tour operator Elegant Resorts claims demand for travel is “slowly returning” as it reports an uplift in enquiries and bookings.

The Chester-based firm cited beach holidays for 2021 as a driver for the upturn, with Elegant Resorts reporting that 65% of bookings are for next year.

Lisa Fitzell, managing director at Elegant Resorts, said more clients were looking ahead to future travel plans for the end of this year and next.

“These are unprecedented times and the scale of the crisis is beyond anything the travel industry has ever experienced,” she said. “But the positive story is that we are seeing a week on week increase in enquiries and bookings for the end of 2020 and indeed 2021.”

In a statement, Elegant Resorts claimed clients will want to use holidays to reconnect with family and nature, and also tips wellness breaks as a popular option post-lockdown.

Fitzell added: “Our clients are passionate about travel, and for some of them, now is a good time to start thinking about those big trips that take longer to plan. Organising these is also part of the fun and offers the opportunity for some armchair travel. There are so many fantastic places opening and due to open this year, the team at Elegant Resorts cannot wait to go and visit them and get our clients to see them when the time is right to travel again.”
