Clare Sheldrick joins Aquilium Travel to help grow sales

Luxury concierge agency, Aquilium Travel, has recruited Clare Sheldrick to help grow its sales.

Sheldrick has previously worked for Carrier Travel, Inspiring Travel Company and Eden Travel.

She was made redundant from Eden earlier this year, due to the Covid pandemic.

Aquilium CEO Gary Pridmore said he was very excited to bring Sheldrick into the business, which he claimed had “been doing very well” despite the crisis and ready to expand.

“We’ve seen an increase in bookings over the last year. We had a massive October and were 20% up on the previous October, and November was really good as well,” he said, explaining that Aquilium’s average booking value was £40,000 per person.

Aquilium’s biggest client spent £180,000 on one trip for two people this year, Pridmore revealed.

Sheldrick, who started in her new role today (Dec 1), said: “I am delighted to be joining Aquilium and hoping to help develop its private travel club. I have a lot of experience in Africa from my time at Carrier, and at ITC, I worked in the Chairman’s Club dealing with very high net worth individuals with all their weird and wonderful requests, and I want to bring all of that specialist knowledge to my new role.”

Aquilium works with many luxury suppliers, including Abercrombie & Kent, Carrier, ITC and Elegant Resorts, said Pridmore.
