New luxury resort prepares to open in Crete

Cayo Exclusive Resort and Spa is to open this weekend in the Elounda Bay area of Crete.

The property is located in the quite village of Plaka, overlooking Spinalonga island and a short distance from Elounda.

Among the 74-room property’s four restaurants will be a culinary option from Lefteris Lazarou, the first Greek chef to be awarded a Michelin star.

The property will have a focus on sustainability, with innovative reusable energy sources used and guests gifted a seedling when they arrive which they can plant anywhere around the resort.

The Cayo Spa will have three treatment rooms, steam and sauna rooms and a relaxation pool.

It will offer detox therapies, mental wellbeing programmes and yoga and pilates.

Rooms start from £310 for a Superior Sea View Room, with discounts of 30% available on rooms until the end of October.
