Bvlgari announces second Italian property

Bvlgari has signed an agreement to open a new property in Rome.

Located in Piazza Augusto Imperatore in the Camp Marzio neighbourhood, Bvlgari Hotel Roma is set to open in 2022.

The building was build between 1936 and 1938 and sits opposite the Ara Pacis and the Mausoleum of Augustus.

It will have 100 rooms, the majority of them suites, as well as Il Ristorante, a dinning venue from Michelin-starred chef Niko Romito.

The property will have a Bvlgari Bar, a spa with indoor pool, a gym and a Reading Room which houses volumes dedicated to the history of jewellery. The library will be open to guests, while members of the public will be able to access through appointment only.

Jean-Christophe Babin, chief executive of the brand, said: “We are particularly proud to have secured such an extraordinary location for the new Bvlgari Hotel in Rome. This Hotel, to be opened in 2022, represents a remarkable achievement for Bvlgari that will finally have its own ‘temple’ right in the city where the Company was founded and that still represents nowadays the beating heart of the brand. It will be by far Roma most luxurious hospitality experience ever”.

Bvlgari currently operates properties in Milan, London, Bali, Beijing, Dubai and Shanghai, with additional hotels planned in Paris, Moscow and Tokyo between now and 2022.
