Bulgari Hotels & Resorts has signed an agreement for a new property in the Maldives.
Bulgari Resort Ranfushi will be located in the Raa Atoll, 45 minutes by sea plane from Malé airport.
The 54-key resort will be spread over 20 hectares and will comprise 33 beach villas with individual swimming pools, 20 overwater villas and one Bulgari Villa on a private island.
The property will be designed by Italian architectural firm Antonio Citterio Patricia Viel, the same company that has designed other Bulgari properties.
The hotel group said the upcoming property would also incorporate “the highest standards” of environmental sustainability, including a new island made to host a nesting bird population.
Bulgari Resort Ranfushi will feature four restaurants, including Italian eatery II Ristorante – Niko Romito, headed up by acclaimed chef Niko Romito; fine-dining Chinese eatery, Bao Li Xuan, sister property to the two-Michelin-starred restaurant at Bulgari Hotel Shanghai; H?seki, the Japanese concept from Bulgari Resort Dubai; and La Spiaggia, home to Italian beach food.
There will also be a Bulgari Bar, a private library, a Bulgari boutique and concept store featuring international designers, and a Bulgari Spa with an adjacent fitness centre and yoga pavilion.
Bulgari Resort Ranfushi marks the hotel group’s 13th property and is scheduled to open in 2025.
Chief executive Jean-Christophe Babin said: “We are particularly proud to have secured such an extraordinary location for the new Bulgari Resort Ranfushi, as the Maldives are a key dreamy destination for our clients from all over the world. We are convinced that this new gem of hospitality addition will ensure once again the highest levels of quality and innovation to our international customers and we look forward to sharing with them the Bulgari values in hospitality at this new, very exclusive location.”
Bulgari Hotels & Resorts launched with three properties in Milan, London and Bali. It has since opened hotels in Beijing, Dubai, Shanghai and Paris, with additional hotels in Rome, Tokyo, Miami and Los Angeles set to open over the next two years.
