Aurora Expeditions expands UK trade team

Katie Harber is joining the Aurora Expeditions UK management team as new business development manager.

She joins the existing team of UK managing director Jos Dewing and business development manager James Turner.

Harber was business development executive at Tradewind Voyages and was instrumental in building up UK sales and marketing to the trade from scratch during the pandemic.

The Australian company said it was eager to meet the growing appetite for remote wilderness and expedition travel from the UK market and strengthen its representation to its trade partners.

“Katie brings a keen drive to grow Aurora’s market share within the UK, an understanding and first-hand experience of remote nature travel, and extensive lead generation skills from her varied travel industry experience, including work with tour operators, a small-ship start-up and onboard cruise ships,” Aurora said.

Dewing added: “Aurora Expeditions is committed to growing and investing in the UK market.

“We have seen incredibly strong growth from this market, particularly with our continued innovation in product offering and expansion of voyages within the European Arctic and British Isles, such as the unique Jewels of Coastal UK itinerary sailing in 2023.

“We are thrilled to welcome Katie to the Aurora family and look forward to working together with our valued trade networks to continue to raise awareness of Aurora’s unique offering and meet the growing trend of remote travel to the polar regions and beyond.”

Aurora Expeditions’ second purpose-built expedition ship, Sylvia Earle, is due to debut in late 2022.
