andBeyond launches treehouse property in Kruger National Park

andBeyond is set to launch an overnight treehouse property in South Africa’s Kruger National Park.

Opening on Monday, February 10, Ngala Treehouse has been designed to complement a stay at one of the reserve's two permanent lodges, andBeyond Ngala Safari Lodge or andBeyond Ngala Tented Camp.

The four-level treehouse features two sleeping areas – an enclosed, weatherproof bedroom with a king-sized bed or an elevated sleep-out platform set beneath a retractable awning on the rooftop – as well as a bar, coffee station and selection of snacks.

Guests can choose to arrive at the solar-powered treehouse in time to toast the sunset with cocktails or after their late-afternoon game drive.

A tapas-style picnic dinner is set up in the safety of an enclosed boma before guests are left on their own for the night, with a radio and mobile phone in case of emergencies.

A room at one of the other two properties at andBeyond Ngala Private Game Reserve must be booked in addition to the Treehouse.

Ngala Treehouse can cater for a maximum of two adults and two children aged between 10 and 16.

One night at Ngala Treehouse costs from ZAR 8,500 (approx.. £435) per night based on two people sharing.
