AmaWaterways to deploy new ship on River Nile

AmaWaterways is to deploy its 25th river cruise ship on the Nile in Egypt.

The 68-passenger AmaDahlia is due to enter service in September 2021 – ten years since the company last featured Nile cruises.

The vessel will run seven-night sailings from Luxor, combined with pre- and post-stays in Cairo to give an 11-night itinerary. Prices lead in at £3,876 per person.

On board facilities include 24 suites with balconies, swimming pool, sun deck bar, fitness room and two restaurants.

AmaWaterways president and co-founder Rudi Schreiner said: “We are excited to be coming back to the legendary Nile and introducing a new river cruise experience in Egypt.

“Everything about this new ship and curated itinerary reflects AmaWaterways’ focus on delivering luxurious accommodations, delectable cuisine and enriching experiences designed to engage with local communities and historic sites.”

Executive vice president and co-founder Kristin Karst added: “Egypt is rich with culture and history and deserves its ranking as one of the most fascinating destinations in the world.

“We continuously search for new ways to expand our offerings, bringing new experiences to our loyal repeat guests as well as attracting new luxury travellers in search of adventure and exploration.”
