AmaWaterways to add second vessel on Nile

AmaWaterways is set to add a second ship on the Nile to “meet the growing demand” for the river line’s sailings in Egypt.

The river cruise operator currently has 72-passenger vessel AmaDahlia (pictured), which launched in September 2021, but in 2024 AmaLilia will also enter service for the line.

Both vessels will operate the 11-night Secrets of Egypt & the Nile cruise-and-land itinerary, which includes a seven-night round-trip river sailing from Luxor.

The line said AmaLilia will “be thoughtfully designed with regionally inspired décor, spacious staterooms and suites and a speciality restaurant included in the river cruise fare”.

Kristin Karst, executive vice-president and co-founder of AmaWaterways, said: “Egypt is one of the most fascinating destinations in the world and we’ve seen such wonderful interest from both our loyal guests as well as new guests since we launched our first ship there in September 2021.

“We look forward to welcoming even more travellers to join us to experience the ancient wonders of Egypt.”

Further details about AmaLilia will be announced soon, the line said.
