Abercrombie & Kent adds three new expedition cruises

Abercrombie & Kent has announced three new Luxury Expedition Cruises around Iceland, the British Isles and the South Pacific.

The trio of new cruises start this year, with a 10-night voyage to Iceland from September 11-21 on the exclusively chartered Ponant ship, Le Champlain.

The voyage will explore the lava beaches and glacial lagoons of Höfn in east Iceland; the whale watching town of Husavik; and Westfjords, Snaefelsnes Peninsula and the village of Grundarfjordur. Prices start from £9,020 per person.

In 2022, guests can join a 13-night voyage around Scotland, Ireland and England from August 26 to September 8 or a 16-night sailing to Komodo, Papua and the Great Barrier Reef from November 21 to December 7.

The British Isles cruise will also take place on Le Champlain, while the South Pacific voyage will be hosted on Ponant's Le Laperouse.

All three journeys will be limited to no more than 148 guests and will be led by an expedition team comprising archaeologists, botanists, ornithologists, geologists and historians.

Guests will be able to discover each region by Zodiac and hear lectures about the culture, people and wildlife of each environment.

A&K’s dedicated Photo Coach will also be able to help guests hone their photography skills, with lectures and workshops for both experts and budding photographers.

The new voyages bring the operator’s 2022-23 portfolio of Luxury Expedition Cruises to 13, including sailings in Japan, Australia’s Kimberley region, the Baltic Sea, Italy and Greece.

All Luxury Expedition Cruises include meals, house drinks, WiFi, laundry services, gratuities, transfers, port charges and shore excursions.

The operator's new flexible booking policy means travellers can reserve any A&K Luxury Expedition Cruise by July 31, 2021 and have the flexibility to change travel plans up to 15 days prior to departure for a Covid-19-related reason.
