Air Cruise Collection announces Africa expedition

Travellers will be able to experience seven countries in 18 days as part of Air Cruise Collection’s new itinerary to Africa.

The luxury travel company is poised to launch its Pearls of Africa ‘air cruise’, which will take passengers to Morocco, São Tomé and Príncipe, South Africa, Zimbabwe, Botswana, Tanzania and Oman in less than three weeks.

Guests will travel aboard the private Boeing 737-500 or 737-700 aircraft, both of which have been re-modelled to feature 56 business class seats.

The latest adventure, departing from Copenhagen on March 26, 2020, comes shortly after Air Cruise Collection unveiled its first itinerary with a UK departure point.

The 17-day Pearls of the Orient ‘air cruise’ is set to depart from London on November 1, 2020 and will whisk guests off to Jordan, India, Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia, Maldives and UAE.

“The announcement of our London departure of the Pearls of the Orient cruise last year was very well received by the UK market and we are delighted to now be able to offer an Africa itinerary to the discerning UK traveller as well as to clients from the wider European market,” said CEO Cornelius Van Pelt.

The African itinerary will take in cookery classes in Marrakech, desert-dining in Oman, wine tasting in South Africa, safaris, train journeys and helicopter rides.

Expeditions have been designed so that guests always fly during the daytime in a bid to maximise overnight accommodation stays.

Marco Rosa, founder of Plateau International - Air Cruise Collection's sales and marketing representative in the UK and Europe - said: “We know that demand for this type of experiential, luxury travel product is high in the UK and we are thrilled to be able to offer an Asia ‘air cruise’ departing from London and an Africa itinerary, departing from Copenhagen.

“We are already planning to add further departure dates from London for the Asia itinerary and will also offer South America 'air cruises' to UK travellers in the future.”

He added that Air Cruise Collection offers a “fantastic opportunity” for UK travel agents specialising in the luxury sector.

“As well as the set departure dates above, agents and operators can also charter the entire plane opting to travel on an existing itinerary or work with Air Cruise Collection to create a bespoke itinerary for their group,” he said.

Prices for the Pearls of Africa ‘air cruise’start from £43,995 per person.
