Abercrombie & Kent unveils Immersive Journeys

Upmarket tour operator Abercrombie & Kent has a new range called Immersive Journeys, as part of its programme of escorted tours for 2019/20.

Immersive Journeys provide the support of an escorted group, but at a slower pace than the operator’s 31 Luxury Small Group Journeys.

There are 13 Immersive Journeys, to destinations in Asia, Russia, Africa, the Middle East and Latin America.

A new ‘Design Your Day’ concept allows guests to choose the experience they want on selected days.

The experiences are grouped into three themes and include Arts and Culture, Culinary Delights and Active.

Kerry Golds, A&K managing director, said: “We believe there is a gap in escorted touring which goes beyond the five-star – which is why we’ve launched our Immersive Journeys programme.

“We’ve created it with the UK traveller in mind; no single supplement, guaranteed departures and our unique Design your Day concept.”

All of A&K’s escorted tours offer guaranteed departures once two people have booked, and no tour will have more than 18 guests. The average is about 14.

Entrance fees, taxes, and tips are included, along with welcome and farewell dinners, but flights are not part of the price.

The operator is also arranging more educational trips for agents this year than ever before.

It has an incentive running during January and February, offering the top-selling escorted tours or villas agent a free educational place on a fam trip to Paris, Turkey, Spain or Kenya.

Agents can also download promotional material from the operator’s website, or contact sales managers for training.

Diogo Castanheira is the agency sales manager for the north, Scotland and Europe, while Mark Harris is agency sales manager for the south and London.
