We sit down with Hannah Cockell, business development and key account manager at Hebridean Island Cruises.

Q. How would you describe Hebridean’s offering?

Our three ships are small and personal and sail to some of the UK’s most beautiful destinations. Attention to detail, high levels of service and genuine all-inclusive fares are our hallmarks. Our ships can access islands, bays and lochs that larger vessels simply can’t reach. We include bucket-list destinations, such as the breathtaking Caledonian Canal and the stunning Outer Hebrides – including Britain’s most westerly point, the remote island archipelago of St Kilda.

Q. How would you describe the onboard experience?

Guests can do as much or as little as they wish. On Hebridean Princess, we generally offer two shore visits a day, included in the fare. All three vessels have bikes; on Hebridean Princess we also offer fishing trips, and for the thrill seekers, speedboat rides. Back on board, our chefs stimulate the taste buds with menus created from locally sourced produce. The opportunities to relax and indulge in quiet contemplation are endless.

Q. What is your trade strategy for this year and beyond?

We’re aware that our cruises appeal to a niche audience and therefore want to showcase our products to the right luxury agents who have the correct clientele. We’re planning to invite more agents on board to experience the product and we’re hoping to launch an online training platform. We will be attending trade events where the focus is on luxury product.

Q. What kind of client is best suited to Hebridean?

We appeal to retired professionals with a passion for wildlife and culture – a discerning traveller who expects personal service and attention to detail.
