AE Expeditions reports ‘strong’ January sales

The line has achieved a 44% year-on-year increase in trade sales

AE Expeditions has reported a 44% year-on-year in January for trade sales.

This represents higher growth than that registered in direct sales, which grew by 15% over the same time period.

The expedition cruise line’s Antarctic Peninsula itineraries, particularly Active Antarctica departures for November and December 2025, were the most popular product in the month and are now 75% sold for the year.

Enquiries for Arctic 2025 voyages also increased year on year.

AE Expeditions plans to “build on this growth” through working with expedition-focussed agents and launching education initiatives.

In January this year, it launched its biggest trade giveaway offering vouchers on every booking made and the chance to win a place on an Arctic or Antarctica fam trip in 2025 or a cabin for two on the inaugural voyage of The Douglas Mawson in December 2025.

The line also intends to put “a strong focus” on supporting partners in future to help them grow the expedition sector in general and how they can best sell the product to their customers.

Andrew Turner, sales director for the EMEA region, said: “It’s clear with our strong start to the year that the expedition cruise sector continues to grow, with more customers looking for small ship experiences to reach the most pristine areas in the world.”
