Review: Virgin Atlantic Clubhouse, Heathrow

The airline's lounge at London Heathrow reopened in July

The Virgin Atlantic Clubhouse at Heathrow airport reopened in July following a 450-day closure due to Covid-19. The airline has reduced the amount of seating to enable social distancing, though there's still plenty of choice, from sleek corner sofas to marble high tables with dusky pink stools. A pleasingly long bar serves an array of alcoholic drinks, while a la carte menus feature hot meals, tapas dishes, meats and cheeses from the deli, and afternoon tea. Virgin has added a new fitness station with three Peloton bikes overlooking the runway, but its best innovation is the 'scan for champagne' QR code on all tables, helping guests order food, request a drink or book a shower slot from the comfort of their seats.

Book it: The Clubhouse is open to Virgin Atlantic Upper Class and Flying Club Gold members, as well as Delta's eligible customers.
