Wendy Wu Tours hails ‘tireless support’ from agents for record sales

Wendy Wu Tours said it has “shattered” its sales records over the peaks selling season in January and February, thanks to “tireless support” and “incredible engagement” from travel agent partners.

The escorted tours specialist said its ‘Prize a Day Giveaway’ incentive helped to drive the surge in sales last month, with revenue 20% up on the previous record, set in January 2019.

Thirty-one prizes were given away during January, ranging from afternoon teas, restaurant dinners and spa breaks, culminating in the top prize of a getaway for two on Wendy Wu Tours’ Mekong cruise and Vietnam beach holiday.

The operator hailed “robust demand” from agents, who have taken advantage of the operator’s training and commission programmes.

Another factor fuelling bookings was the resurgence of China, with one in five bookings over the past six weeks being made for tours in the country.

Wth the destination fully open and a nationwide agent China training programme led by the operator’s business development managers, confidence in selling China is back to where it was in 2019, added the company.
