Nobu Hotels is set to open its first property in Mexico next month as part of a rapid expansion programme.

The group, helmed by actor Robert De Niro, restauranteur Nobu Matsuhisa and filmmaker Meir Teper, now operates nine hotels across the globe. It has pledged to increase that number to 20 by 2020. 

Located on the southernmost tip of the Baja Peninsula, Nobu Hotel Los Cabos will offer 200 ocean-view guestrooms and suites in a ‘Japanese beach house’ setting from April. 

The property is home to multiple infinity pools, meeting and event spaces, a running track and shopping outlets, as well as a spa featuring Natura Bissé products.

It will offer a variety of dining options, including a beachfront Nobu restaurant and a Malibu Farm eatery serving up farm-to-table fare. 

In addition to Nobu Hotel Los Cabos, Nobu Hotels is on track to welcome Nobu Hotel Barcelona, Nobu Hotel Chicago and Nobu Hotel Warsaw by 2020. 

Properties in Toronto, Sao Paulo, Tel Aviv, Riyadh and Atlanta are also in the pipeline.
