Dorchester Collection reveals name of new Dubai hotel

Dorchester Collection has revealed its upcoming hotel in Dubai will be call The Lana.

The property is the brand’s first outpost in the Middle East and is scheduled to open in the last quarter of 2022.

The Lana will be located in the Burj Khalifa District overlooking the Business Bay Area.

Dorchester Collection said the name comes from the Arabic expression meaning ‘for us’ and the Hawaiian term for ‘floating gently in calm water’, paying homage to the hotel’s location beside the Dubai Creek and the Marasi Marina.

The Lana, a 30-storey tower, will feature 225 guest rooms, including 69 suites. All rooms feature floor-to-ceiling windows, stone parquet flooring, triple height ceilings, dark marble and hues of gold, beige and olive.

The Lana’s Presidential Suite features two sitting rooms, a garden room, a dining room and an expansive private terrace, while the two-bedroom Royal Suite offers a large indoor and outdoor living space wrapping around the north corner of the building.

On-site amenities will include an indoor-oudoor social lobby space, concierge, pastry counter and secluded garden lounge.

A modern Mediterranean restaurant with indoor and outdoor dining can be found on the fourth floor, while The Lana’s signature restaurant and lounge is located on the hotel’s 18th floor.

The 29th floor houses the hotel’s spa, wellness centre and gym, while the top floor hosts a rooftop pool with cabana service, which transforms into a lounge and chic nightlife destination after dark.

“The Lana is one of the most anticipated hotel openings of 2022, given its incredible design-led credentials in a superb location in one of the world’s most vibrant cities, and a rooftop scene that will attract much attention,” said Christopher Cowdray, chief executive of Dorchester Collection.

“We’re looking forward to bringing Dorchester Collection’s renowned brand of luxury hospitality combined with [real estate development group] OMNIYAT’s real estate vision to a new region that is home to so many of our guests around the world.”

Mahdi Amjad, founder and executive chairman of OMNIYAT, added: “At OMNIYAT, we are committed to delivering the highest standards of quality and design. The Lana, our newest property with the illustrious Dorchester Collection, redefines the standard of luxury. The Lana's sophistication, opulence, and design will undoubtedly make it a standout feature in the Emirates' picturesque skyline.”
