Cayman Islands confirmed as Aspire Awards destination headline sponsor

The Cayman Islands Department of Tourism has been confirmed as destination headline sponsor of this year’s Aspire Awards.

The tourist board will support the event on December 13 at The Londoner hotel as Aspire looks to celebrate the achievements of the high-end travel sector.

Adrian White, regional manager UK at the Cayman Islands Department of Tourism, said: “We are delighted to be sponsoring this year’s Aspire Awards, recognising the important role of Aspire with the luxury travel trade who we know have an increasingly important role to play post pandemic in making sure the public know what’s on offer and consider all opportunities, exploring new destinations and creating bucket list memories.

“We hope many UK travellers will be tempted by what they will find on and around our very special British Caribbean islands.”

The news comes amid confirmation that the Cayman Islands will reopen without quarantine to fully verified and vaccinated UK travellers on November 20.

The British Overseas Territory in the western Caribbean is set to move to phase four of its reopening plan after almost two years with limited international travel following news that 75% of the population has had two doses of a Covid-19 vaccination.

The destination will be served by four direct flights weekly this winter with British Airways from Heathrow to Grand Cayman.

All travellers must declare travel and vaccination status via government website Travel Cayman. Unvaccinated visitors will be required to quarantine upon arrival for 14-days.

“Later this month the Cayman Islands will be accessible to all fully verified, vaccinated UK travellers who will be able to enter without quarantine,” said White.

“We are excited to be able to spread the word about the many unique experiences available across all three islands - Grand Cayman, Little Cayman and Cayman Brac - so whether people are looking to explore new culinary delights, extraordinary wildlife and nature, art and culture, watersports, or simply relax and enjoy our turquoise waters, white sands and abundant sunshine - or of course a little bit of everything - we want to make sure all agents and advisers are up to date with what the Cayman Islands has to offer.”

The Aspire Awards is also supported by headline sponsor Celebrity Cruises. Other sponsors include One&Only, Air Charter Service, Silversea, Mail Metro Media, Explora Journeys, Visit USA, Seabourn and Molton Brown.
